| Directions | Ronan's Mission Mountain County Visitor Center is a cherished community project dedicated to welcoming summer visitors to the Mission Valley in Western Montana. Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the center offers a warm introduction to the area’s rich history and attractions during the peak tourism season.
Housed in a hand-hewn log cabin built in the 1870s, the center has a fascinating past. Originally part of the Sloan Stage Stop on the Dixon-to-Polson stagecoach line, the cabin had fallen into disrepair over the years. In the 1980s, it was relocated to the Mission Mountain Country Club property before being moved again, thanks to Ronan Community Bank, which donated it to the community. This historic building was lovingly restored to serve as a visitor center, preserving its unique heritage.
The project was a collaborative effort led by the Lake County Community Development Corporation (LCCDC), which rallied community support and secured a grant from the U.S. Forest Service to bring the vision to life. Ronan Community Bank generously provides the site, while LCCDC owns the building and its improvements.
Today, the center is proudly operated by the Ronan Chamber of Commerce. The project was spearheaded by the Lake County Community Development Corporation which raised community support for the project and secured the assistance of the US Forest Service who awarded a grant to further the project.
