| NetDescriptions | The MacDonald Pass Ski Trails are four connected cross-country ski trail loops near the Continental Divide providing opportunities for beginner and intermediate skiing. Three of the four loop trails are groomed by the Last Chance Nordic Ski Club. Snowmobiles prohibited; parking capacity for 25 vehicles near MacDonald Pass. Dogs are not permitted on the ski trails. The length of this trail is 4.5 km of easiest, 17 km of more difficult and 5.6 km of most difficult trail; groomed. 5 km of groomed trail for skate skiing. The Nordic ski trails on Mac Pass are open, snow permitting, December through April. To make the most of an often shallow snowpack, the Last Chance Nordic Ski Club, in cooperation with the Helena National Forest, grooms these popular cross country ski trails almost daily. As a result, cross country skiing is usually great. |
