NetDescriptionsAn opportunity for hikers and motorized vehicle users to reach a magnificent lake. Albro Lake Trail (333) climbs steeply for the first 2 miles. It joins with Park Trail 302 at this point, maintaining a gradual grade for the next 1.5 miles to the junction with Potosi Peak Trail 365. The last mile is a steep and rocky climb to the lake. Albro Lake sports fishing as well as a mountain goat population in the high cliffs above. The surrounding area provides a home for mule deer, elk, and black bear. Enroute to the lake, the trail passes through mountain meadows with exceptional views of the valley below and the Madison Mountain range to the east. Due to its intersection with several other trail systems, options for alternate routes into and out of the area exist. Albro Lake sits in a magnificent alpine bowl. ATVs are only allowed on the Albro Lake Trail, so be careful not to take a wrong turn at the junctions. Expect to see cattle grazing during the summer months. Length: 10.0 miles round trip. Moderate difficulty. Trail Begins: 2.5 miles southwest of Pony Trail Ends: Albro Lake USGS Map: Potosi Peak, Pony
