NetDescriptions | Mount Haggin Wildlife Management Area encompasses 56,151 acres. Management goal: To provide year-round habitat for wildlife, emphasizing moose and mule deer, and to provide public outdoor recreational opportunities. Hunting opportunities: Archery and rifle hunting seasons for elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, moose, antelope, and black bear, and upland bird hunting are open to licensed hunters during open seasons. Antlerless elk permits and antlerless B-tags for deer are available through the statewide drawing. Wildlife viewing: Visitors can see elk, white-tailed and mule deer, moose, antelope, and upland birds from roadsides. Black bears are occasionally observed. Non-game and bird-watching opportunities occur year-round. This Wildlife Management Area is home to a variety of songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, and shorebirds. Furbearers such as beaver, muskrat, and mink are active along lakes and streams. Martens are common in forests and visitors can see coyotes in all habitats. |
