The Beartooth Mountains are a portion of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness which is located on the Custer, Gallatin and Shoshone National Forests. This Wilderness offers a variety of wilderness related recreation experiences.&#xD;
&#xD;
The Beartooth Ranger District is about 65 miles from Billings, Montana, the largest city in Montana, and therefore receives heavy recreation use. The area is also a popular area for deer, elk, and bighorn sheep hunters, as well as fishermen.&#xD;
&#xD;
There are four National Recreation Trails on the District. They are: Wild Bill Lake, Parkside, Basin Lake, and Silver Run.&#xD;
&#xD;
There are a number of camp and picnic areas on the District, providing destination type use, and also serve as popular jumping-off places for day hikes into the Wilderness. The facilities at Wild Bill lake are designed specifically for persons with disabilities; ramps for wheel chairs provide access to the lake for easy fishing and docks are also provided.</NetDescriptions><NoOfRooms i:nil="true"/><OutfitterLicNo i:nil="true"/><OutfitterName i:nil="true"/><PaymentMethods/><PhoneNo1>406-446-2103</PhoneNo1><PhoneNo2 i:nil="true"/><PhoneNof>406-446-3918</PhoneNof><PhoneNot i:nil="true"/><Prices/><Reservations/><SeasonOfOp i:nil="true"/><ServiceCity>Red Lodge</ServiceCity><SiteId>6340</SiteId><SiteMembers>1|http://www.visitmt.com|Y#11|http://www.wintermt.com|#32|http://www.lewisandclark.state.mt.us|#94|http://indiannations.visitmt.com|</SiteMembers><SiteName>Beartooth Ranger District</SiteName><SiteRegMem>YELLOWSTONE</SiteRegMem><SiteRegion>Yellowstone</SiteRegion><SiteType>National Forest</SiteType><SiteTypeId i:nil="true"/><StreetCity/><StreetFirm i:nil="true"/><StreetState i:nil="true"/><StreetStreet i:nil="true"/><StreetZip i:nil="true"/><Url>http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/custergallatin/home</Url></SiteDetail>
