It's well known for its whitewater rafting because it has the biggest rapids on the Yellowstone River that are not within the water restrictions of Yellowstone Park. It's a small canyon; less that 5 miles and rapids are found within the first few miles of the canyon. Rafters and floaters have a few options for entry as well to decide home much excitement they want to take on through the canyon.
