(from Cheney's <I>Names on the Face of Montana</I>, Mountain Press Publishing Company) Richland is located near the Canadian border in northeastern Montana. It is along the west fork of the Poplar River and is just north of the <a href="/places_to_go/indian_nations/nakoda-dakota-fort-peck/">Fort Peck Indian Reservation</a>.</p><P>The nearby town of <a href="/categories/city.asp?siteid=1&city=scobey">Scobey</a> has a great <a href="/categories/moreinfo.asp?SiteID=1&IDRRecordID=2133">nine-hole golf course</a>. <a href="/categories/moreinfo.asp?SiteID=1&IDRRecordID=3184">Daniels County Museum and Pioneer Town</a>, on 20 acres just west of Scobey, boasts 35 buildings that have been restored to depict a town in the early 1900s.
