NetDescriptions | Mike Agee a Montana native, grew up in Northwest corner of Montana. He was introduced to fly fishing at a very young age. Mike was taught fly casting and fly tying by his father, an avid outdoorsman. Mike learned to row a drift boat on the Kootenai and main Flathead rivers before he attended Flathead High School in Kalispell MT. After graduating high school in 1992 Mike enrolled at the University of Montana on an athletic scholarship. It was during his time at college in Missoula MT. that he began to truly find his passion for fly fishing. Mike began guiding fly fisherman in 1994. One of his first guide jobs was on Smith and Missouri rivers. His experience guiding on the Smith river in the mid 90’s opened doors that allowed him to guide in Chile and Argentina for a number of seasons. In 2002 Mike started his own Outfitting business, specializing on the upper Missouri river. He owns and operates Agee Outfitting based in Helena MT. Mike was one of the original guides who pioneered fly fishing in the ‘Land of the Giants” section on the Missouri river. Montana will always be home to Mike. These days he spends as much time as possible chasing saltwater species and fishing internationally. Mike hosts international fishing trips to Argentina, Alaska, Belize, Bahamas, Cuba, Christmas Island, and Chile, to name a few. Mike Is currently an active board member of his local Trout Unlimited chapter. Mike is currently listed or formally has been a Pro staff member of Clacka Craft drift boats, Enrico Puglisi flies, Simms Fishing Products, Pro Loks, and Montana Fly Company. Mike is a USCG and IGFA approved licensed Captain. |
