NetDescriptionsJoin Billy Maxwell as he puts on a special workshop where participants will learn about the history of bull boats, how they are made and then will be able to make a mini-bull boat. A bull boat is a useful small boat, usually made by American Indians and frontiersmen, made by covering a skeletal wooden frame with a buffalo hide. This workshop will take place from 9:00 – 12:00 noon at the Kiwanis Pavilion. The cost for the workshop will be $50 per person and will be limited to 10 people. If there is enough interest, we may add an afternoon workshop. Please RSVP for this workshop by calling the Makoshika State Park Visitor Center at (406) 377-6256. Billy Maxwell has a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Montana. Among his various experience, he has been a backcountry mule packer in the Bridger-Teton Wilderness area and a researcher/interpreter at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls, Montana.
