NetDescriptions | Since 1997, Glacier Guides and Montana Raft has hosted “Rafting For Refuse,” an annual clean up of the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork of the Flathead River. This year, after cleaning up our river, we are joining forces with our local river stewards to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act! Did you know the Three Forks of the Flathead River were part of the inspiration for the Act? To learn more about the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, join us for a Festival and Speaker Series in celebration of its 50th Anniversary. Speaker series will begin at 1pm at Glacier Guides and Montana Raft and feature speakers from American Rivers, Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, and the Flathead National Forest! There will be booths with information, activities, and prizes on site, hosted by the speakers, and also Crown of the Continent Geotourism, Citizens for a Better Flathead, and the Glacier National Park Conservancy. This event is free and open to to public. Rafting for Refuse is also free, but requires advance registration. Please call the Glacier Guides and Montana Raft office to sign up! 406-387-5555 |
