NetDescriptions | Located in the Swan Valley, the Moose Camp is a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath log cabin on 10 acres bordering State Forest with Cedar Creek flowing through. The creek widens in the yard creating a perfect leisurely float or Brook trout fishing in season. The living room has a stone fireplace for those chilly evenings. The master bedroom has one King size bed. The second bedroom has a queen and 2 bunk beds. There is also a sofa sleeper that sleeps 2. The main bath has a shower/tub combo.
The Swan Valley covers the area from just south of Bigfork approximately 80 miles down Highway 83 to Seeley Lake. This area sits in the middle of the Swan River State Forest. Swan Valley has an unending supply of creeks, streams, lakes, gravel roads and trails that disappear up into the forest making it easy to explore some place new virtually every day. The Swan River meanders through the Swan Valley creating ample opportunity for rafting, kayaking and some spectacular float trips. Holland Lake is 15 miles south for boat rentals, fishing, Holland Falls hike or horseback riding.
The cabin offers easy access to both The Bob Marshall and Mission Mountains Wilderness areas, and both mountain ranges rising most abruptly from the valley floor. Boating lakes include Holland Lake, Seeley Lake and Swan Lake, and the remarkable Flathead Lake farther north. There are so many recreation possibilities that you could literally live here and boat, hike, mountain bike, swim, fish, and ski all year long for years and still find activities to keep you busy.
Swan Valley is the ideal place for a quiet and/or adventurous vacation with all the best nature has to offer. The cabin is only a 1 hour drive from Glacier National Park, one of the most pristine and lovely parks in the nation. The cabin is located 11 miles south of the little town of Swan Lake and is a short walk to the Swan River for trophy trout fishing. This retreat is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the quiet or make it your base camp for day excursions. While you are at the Moose Camp, the immediate surroundings are perfect for hiking, ATVing, boating, guided horseback trips, lake fishing, river fishing, hunting, sight- seeing, or just relaxing. Montana is such a beautiful place.
The cabin is located near many trailheads: Piper Lake Trailhead, Cold Lake Trailhead, other trails nearby include Lion Creek, Glacier Lake Trail, Ducharme, and Holland Falls. Several boating lakes are short drive from the cabin as well.
Fly fishing for bulltrout, cutthroat, brook trout and rainbow in nearby creek or lakes.
PLEASE NOTE: This is the REAL Montana wilderness. There are more deer than humans. You may or may not encounter Moose, Deer, Bear, Elk, Eagles, Hawks, Cougars, ducks, and geese at this cabin. |
