NetDescriptionsThe West Fork Road (USFS) is gated near the Silver Run Trails turn-off 6 miles west of Red Lodge from December 1 - April 15 for winter recreation of all kinds. It is occasionally groomed by the BRTA (Beartooth Recreational Trails Association) a non-profit organization which operates the Red Lodge Nordic Center. About 5 miles of road (one way) provides lots of skiing, snowshoeing, etc. and access to three trailheads as well as connecting to the Silver Run Trail system. It is suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers as well as expert skate skiers. Area Map: Custer National Forest
