Artwork shows homesteads, ghost towns, mining towns, historic homes and sites, buildings and landmarks of the Northeastern Montana. Artwork comes with a detailed written history of the site or art image.
Painting and prints of the Zortman area - historic gold mill, community church, jail and businesses of the homestead and mining era.
Also art work of historic figures and places in the area i.e. Pike Landusky's ranch and grave sit; Jake's Bar where Pike and Kid Curry had a shoot out; Kid Curry's (outlaw) homestead, the gang's hideout (Robber's Roost) and 'The Club' a saloon used by the outlaws. Fort Peck Dam and lake, surrounding homesteads and old towns built during the 'dam days'. Also the original for on the Missouri River used by early settlers and trappers - Fort Peck.
Some of the original paintings are on roof shingles (from old miner's cabins), bones-beef and buffalo, and interesting rock and wood shapes.
Art work of the interesting churches and schools in the small towns of the Hi-line area and on Indian Reservations, i.e. Sacred Heart Church, Snake Creek School, Old Stone House etc, And custom paintings of old homesteads, ranches, cars, equipment from family photos.
Art work is historically correct, research done at Phillips County Museum, Glasgow Museum and Fort Peck Visitors Center. Art is unique as it shows life of 'Good old days in good old West', nostalgic view of our ancestor's life in eastern Montana.
Art work of wildlife in the area, elk, deer, buffalo, upland birds, waterfowl, etc. and flora of the area. Many paintings of birds and flowers using several panes of glass to give depth and great interest to the viewer.
New interest is the old machines, especially tractors in a variety of backgrounds. Judy has a wealth of photos for commissions (personalized.)
Judy specializes in 3-D (or collage) paintings of old buildings, homesteads etc. the buildings are built out from the masonite/canvas with wood wire, glass, etc. to give a 3-D effect. Varnished and durable paintings for the traveler. All framed and can be packaged by the artist for travel. Also artist will pack and mail for visitors.
