DirectionsTake Highway 12 for 2 miles east from Townsend and turn left on Highway 284 (Canyon Ferry Road). Follow 284 for approximately 16 miles to Confederate Road 287. Follow Confederate Road 287 for 13 miles to the junction with the trail. At the top of the divide the road becomes the Benton Gulch Road 287.1
