NetDescriptionsSummit Campground is located in Lewis and Clark National Forest at an elevation of 5,200 feet. It is is pack it in, pack it out campground and straddles the Continental Divide in the shadow of Summit Mountain. It is composed of two unnamed loops among conifers with abundant wild flowers scattered throughout the understory. There are 17 campsites provided with handicapped accessible restroom facilities. Maximum trailer length is 35 feet. The St. Mary Glacier National Park entrance is 42 miles east on US Route 2, while the West Glacier entrance is 46 miles in the other direction. The campground is adjacent to Memorial Square which celebrates Theodore Roosevelt (with a miniature Washington Monument) and the Blackfeet people. Summit Campground is also adjacent to Marias Pass Historic Site. Stay of 14 days and a fee is required. Pets are allowed if on a leash.
