| NetDescriptions | If you are looking to start your Montana adventure we're sure you will love our cozy cabin. The cabin is located 4 miles from Whitefish and sits in a private setting. You may enjoy waking up to the loons in the mornings or perhaps listening to the ducks while watching the sun set. Skyles Lake is a small lake, it allows for small boats only and is best accessed from the private dock to avoid muddy feet. There are no sandy beaches or rock bottoms, but remains to be a great swimming hole, fishing, canoeing and paddle boarding lake. The neighbors here are friendly and keep to themselves. The cabin sits on 40 acres with the only other house on the property being the owners house 1/4 mile away. You will be happy to know the Whitefish trail crosses the 40 acres and you can literally ride/hike right out the front door. You can choose from two different accesses to the trail which can take you to Whitefish or to many other small lakes in the area.
The inside of the cabin is a main floor and a loft area for your sleeping quarters. There is one queen bed and a twin bed in the loft, along with a futon on the main floor. The loft is accessed by a ladder and not a grand staircase, the loft is open to below. You will have to be clever getting your suitcase up the ladder but we can help you if needed. There is no WIFI or cable television as we are hopeful you are here to explore and start your adventure thus have no time for TV or internet. There is cell phone service and we all know you can do just about anything on a cell phone.
The Flathead Valley offers much to the vacationers and we are certain your vacation will be jam packed with activities. As mentioned before Whitefish is just 4 miles away, where you will find summer activities on Big Mountain, fine dining, nice places to grab that night cap and excellent shopping. The Stillwater Fish House is about 1.5 miles from the cabin and offers a splendid menu.
7 miles from Whitefish is Columbia Falls "Adventure Lives Here" there are waterslides for the kids, 3 rivers to choose your fishing or rafting route and Glacier Park is just 15 minutes down the road. Bigfork is about an hour from the cabin and sits on Flathead Lake. Kalispell is about 30 minutes from the cabin on the back roads for all your box store shopping needs.
