NetDescriptionsFlathead Lake Water Front Home is a 3-bedroom, 2-and-1/2-bathroom lake-front home that can sleep 9. 7-night minimum stay. This beautiful, spotlessly clean home is a paradise for boating (any kind), swimming, fishing off the dock for kids and in the lake for lunkers. One of my best friends guides trips and takes you to secret spots for lunker lake trout (2-30 pounders). Early morning trophy trips, children's trips, sunset/wine trips. Fish guaranteed or he'll take you out again. Birds galore. Canadian geese (always), ducks, hummingbirds, & everything in your bird-watching book that flies around here, plus some strays. The real treat is the appearence of herons, ospreys, and eagles. Peaceful Bay is not deep (4-9 ft) which brings Blue Herrons (spring), ospreys all summer, and eagles now and then. They fish right in front of you and fly away with their catch. Our hedge of lilacs is nesting home to hundreds of hummingbirds. They bloom about the 2nd week of May or so for a month, then remain a green nesting place 20 feet from the feeders. We have a large lawn facing the lake with firepit and a tepee, and an even larger yard on the other side, sloped slightly...good for volleyball and horse shoes. Wildlife abounds. Deer are in our yard in the evenings and muskrats and otters swim by the dock occasionally. We are located 2 miles from our little town of Lakeside. Post office, great marina with gas, mechanics, slips, restaurant, and boat rentals. Bring your own boat and dock it in the covered slip. One of the special features is that we are on the west side of the lake and yet our house faces west for sunsets till 10:30 PM in summer. We have fantastic sunsets over the bay. Ski Season is December 1 to March 31st. We are 1 hour from nationally famous Big Mountain Ski Resort (you can see it from our deck) and 35 miles from Blacktail Ski Resort listed in the top 10 for reasonable prices and family friendly. Cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing are excellent too. Seasonal discounts available, please check website for additional information.
