In prehistoric times the Powder River was under ocean, swamp, beach and grass, making for a wide range of sea fossils, dinosaur bones, unique western animals and artifacts from the long history of this regions ancient people.
Near the Little Bighorn Mountains, between Mount Rushmore in the sacred Black Hills and the Battle of the Little Bighorn, where Custer met his end, Broadus is a perfect stop on your way to or from Yellowstone Park's most scenic mountain entrance on Highway 212.
